News: Audi RS5 Cabrio Revealed

Audi has gone eccentric again, lads. The RS5 has got its roof chopped off and replaced with a fabric one. Under the hood, there is the same beastful sounding naturally aspirated V8 FSI engine generating 450 bhp and 430 Nm of torque from 4,000 to 6,000 rpm. The century sprint gets done in just 4.9 seconds but that's 0.3 seconds slower than its coupe sibling. You'd probably wouldn't notice though since you're enjoying the burbles and roars of the engine roof down. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h as always but with your knees on the ground in front of Audi, you'd be able to bump the top speed to a cool 280 km/h.

The engine is coupled to an S-Tronic seven-speed dual clutch transmission with the last gear having a long ratio. You see, the Germans think of everything. The RS5 may be a performance monster but with a roof cut off, this cabrio is highly likely to be cruising along highways with the roof down and with the long ratio programmed, chances are your wallet would take a longer time to thin away. As with the coupe, the cabrio gets the quattro system with a split 40(front):60(rear) torque distribution but it is flexible and more can be transferred to the front or rear to reduce slippage and increase grip in different road conditions.

Apart from the performance numbers, the Cabrio's fabric roof goes up in 15 seconds and folds away in 17 seconds and this can be done with speeds up to 50 km/h. 19-inchers are standard in the Cabrio along with an RS bodykit, updated LED lights, carbon fibre spoiler and dual exhaust outputs. Interior is basically the same with its permanently roofed counterpart but the cabrio gets an additional wind deflector. Mmhmm, that means your wigs will stay intact.

How much for this? That's €88,500 for the composed hooligan. And oh, did I mention you get paddle shifters too?
