News: McLaren Reveals Another Teaser and Has a Project 8

Before, we had a picture and rumored performance stats of the McLaren successor. McLaren has now fueled our curiosity even more with a video of the next F1 road car. With an ongoing light show moving as if depicting the car in motion, it shows vaguely how the next F1 is shaped like. Looking much like its smaller brother, the MP4-12C, it'll reportedly also wear the same engine albeit with higher tuned specifications. Power is surmised to be hovering at 1000 hp exerted by the V8 and KERS system. Palms are sweating as I write this as I anticipate the revelation of this successor. Will it be awesome or will it be awesome?

On another note, the X-1 previously reported over here *click click*  is a thingabeauty, isn't it? No? Right, beauty lies on the eyes of the beholder but I can conclude that we all agree that the X-1 is indeed uniquely special. The people behind this is of course McLaren's own Special Operations (MSO) and they've been at it again, creating special one-offs. MSO has created Project 8, though this is a more mainstream model compared to the X-1.

As with the previous client, this is another Mclaren addict who requested to paint and outfit his F1 in red and white themes. Also, an MP4-12C is built to match the reworked F1. Almost everything in and out of the car is either red, white or untouched carbon fibre. Engine isn't tweaked nor is the bodykit. Mainstream as it is, Project 8 is definitely an expensive bespoke programme. With a team of 50 tech-wizzed engineers at the helm of the operation, nothing cannot be done to tune your McLaren up to your fancy. It's not a question of can they, but how much.
