With a string of Aston Martin-esque grille updates that has gone into Ford's new models, the Mondeo has also undergone the treatment. Thing is, the new Mondeo is a real looker. Not that the previous model looks bad or anything. The previous model seemed like an old loyal dog, the new one looks like an attack dog instead. Rough, mean looking and bites you when you're not looking at it. The slim LED infused front light clusters, aggressive looking bodykit, muscularly shaped bonnet matched with a more neatly and composed styled rear just adds to the want meter in me.
The new Mondeo gets a few engine choices but the highlight is the new 2012 Engine of the Year, 1.0l EcoBoost capable of churning out a respectable 123 bhp and 170 Nm of torque or 200 Nm with overboost. There will be a hybrid choice of a 2.0l engine coupled together with a 35 kW lithium-ion battery and a diesel option as well. More powerful variants are to be expected but no details have been revealed just yet. Goodies are definitely bountiful in the Mondeo but with details released, I can only say that there will be SYNC, panoramic glass roof, WiFi hotspot and inflatable rear seatbelts included in the car for now.

Also, if you don't like the sedan which is crazy, you get to choose a hatchback or an estate instead. I'd get the sedan any day though.

Technically, the new Mondeo is old news because it was revealed early this year in Fusion guise. The news that is spreading like wildfire on the interwebs currently are that this tiny engine will be fitted in the D-segment car and that the Mondeo gets an estate and hatchback versions in european contries. Just thought that you should know.
